Serious Fun Riverboarding is the world’s first commercial Riverboarding company, operating in Queenstown since 1989. Riverboarding is the ultimate way to experience a river. Ride up to grade 3 rapids, surf standing waves, play on giant eddy lines and challenge yourself on rock jumps, all amongst New Zealand’s finest scenery. Fully equipped with a bodyboard, or a river purpose sledge, fins, booties, life jacket and a helmet, you will be coached by seasoned, professional, and nationally qualified guides, to tackle the river at face level.
With three different trips to suit your thirst for adventure, choose between Drifting, Sledging or Riversurfing. Or try them all! The Kawarau River is where we play, but the trips vary in length, departure times and intensity. Drifting is our soft adventure, tailored for those less confident in the water, but who would like a scenic tour with a twist. Sledging is a thrilling 7 km white water adventure through the gorge. Finish at the historic Gold Mining Centre. While Riversurfing is our top rush offering up to 12 km of excitement, doing it twice to conquer the river.
